Intinews | Presiden RI Joko Widodo mengapresiasi peran The Access to COVID-19 Tools Accelerator (ACT-A) dalam mendorong pengembangan dan akses yang berkeadilan terhadap obat, alat diagnostik, dan vaksin Covic-19. Menurutnya, ACT-A merupakan bagian penting arsitektur kesehatan dunia.
“ACT-A merupakan bagian penting arsitektur kesehatan dunia sekaligus bukti nyata manfaat multilateralisme. Ke depannya peran ACT-A masih sangat dibutuhkan, termasuk untuk menjembatani ketimpangan vaksinasi global. No one is safe until everyone is,” ujar Presiden dalam pidatonya untuk ACT-A, yang ditayangkan di kanal YouTube Sekretariat Presiden, Rabu (09/02/2022).
Presiden juga mengajak negara-negara dan donor untuk memperkuat dukungannya terhadap ACT-A. Sebagai Presiden G20, Indonesia menjadikan penguatan arsitektur kesehatan dunia sebagai salah satu agenda prioritas.
“Dunia harus lebih siap dan lebih tanggap terhadap krisis kesehatan. Setiap negara harus memiliki kesempatan yang sama untuk mempersiapkan diri dari ancaman pandemi berikutnya,” jelasnya.
Lebih jauh, Presiden menyatakan berbagai pembenahan harus dilakukan dan penguatan kapasitas negara berkembang harus mendapatkan perhatian khusus. Di saat yang sama, negara berkembang juga harus diberdayakan sebagai solusi.
“Negara berkembang harus menjadi bagian dari rantai pasok suplai obat, vaksin, dan peralatan kesehatan. Untuk itu, kerja sama, riset, investasi, dan transfer teknologi mutlak dilakukan,” paparnya.
Menurut Presiden, solidaritas dan kerja sama adalah kunci untuk keluar dari pandemi dan membangun arsitektur kesehatan dunia yang lebih tangguh.
“Peran G20 sangat penting dalam membangun arsitektur kesehatan dunia, termasuk dalam mendorong dukungan pembiayaan kesehatan bagi negara berkembang. Recover together, recover stronger,” tandasnya.
Untuk diketahui, Access to Covid-19 Tools Accelerator adalah kolaborasi global yang inovatif untuk mempercepat pengembangan, produksi, dan akses yang adil terhadap tes, perawatan, dan vaksin Covic-19. ACT-A diluncurkan pada akhir April 2020, pada acara yang diselenggarakan bersama oleh Direktur Jenderal Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO), Presiden Prancis, Presiden Komisi Eropa, dan Yayasan Bill & Melinda Gates.(rill)
