Beachwalk Pempek Expo yang dilaksanakan di Bali dari tanggal 29-30 Juli 2022, merupakan upaya konkrit yang dilakukan oleh BI untuk tujuan tersebut.
Dalam kesempatan ini Wakil Gubernur Sumsel H. Mawardi Yahya, Karo Ekonomi Pemprov Sumsel, H. Afrian Joni, Kepala Kantor Perwakilan Bank Indonesia Provinsi Sumsel Erwin Soeridimadja, Perwakilan Bank Indonesia Provinsi Bali Gusti Agung Diah Utari, TPID Provinsi Sumsel, TPID Kota Palembang.
Kepala BI Sumsel, Erwin mengatakan BI akan terus mendorong kegiatan pengembangan pasar UMKM, dalam mengembangkan kapasitasnya agar bisa berstandarisasi dan dapat di ekspor.
“Pada intinya BI terus mendorong kegiatan pengembangan UMKM dalam pengembangan kapasitas dengan pembinaan, mendukung pengadaan mesin record dan mendukung digitalisasi dalam menggunakan e-commerce”, ujarnya.
Hal ini juga senada dengan keinginan Wakil Gubernur Sumsel, Mawardi yang ingin UMKM di Sumsel kembali bangkit setelah tergerus pandemi covid-19. Mawardi mengapresiasi kegiatan Kantor Perwakilan Bank Indonesia Provinsi Sumsel yang memilih Bali sebagai tempat expo.
“Pemerintah Provinsi Sumsel sangat bangga dan mengapresiasi kegiatan yang dilakukan BI Sumsel dalam memilih Bali sebagai tempat expo UMKM”, tututnya.
Disampaikan oleh Kepala Perwakilan Bank Indonesia Provinsi Bali, Gusti Agung Diah Utari bahwa di Provinsi Bali memiliki Program Local Economic Development yang mengkhususkan UMKM makanan dan minuman.
Industri UMKM terutama makanan dan minuman merupakan salah satu bagian penting dalam perekonomian daerah karena lebih dari 90% industri makanan dan minuman dikelola oleh UMKM.
